#1 Clean & Organize

Before you begin refreshing your space you want to make sure its clean. Start by emptying your shelves, counters, and take all art off walls. You may find something that can be reused or repurposed.

#2 Explore Your Layout

Rearrange your space with a different furniture layout. Move the sofa to the opposite side of the room put the chair on the other side of the sofa. Restyle your shelves. Take books away, add a bowl with decorative balls in it, or add a plant for greenery. This helps give you a new flow and a new perspective.

#3 Rework Art and Wall Décor

Pick an accent wall and add wallpaper for a pop. Or if wallpaper is too much pick a pop of paint color. You could start a gallery wall. Pick your favorite piece of art and start from there or a favorite photo and start a travel wall.

#4 Upgrade Window Treatments

Windows often get forgotten because they are already dressed in blinds but adding some curtains can really warm up your space. For those who don’t like bright sunlight in the morning can look for blackout curtains or if you don’t have a preference there are many choices for you. Sheer, linen, velvet, graphic prints, woven, or textured.

#5 Add Color or Texture

There are many ways to add a pop of color or texture to your space. I like to start with accent pillows for the sofa or a throw blanket. Switch or add area rugs to your spaces but pay attention to scale. Adding real or faux plants can add life and texture to any space.

You’re all done. How does it look? Completely fresh and different, right?! Relax and Enjoy!
